Rangehood Installation Tips
- What type of rangehood are you looking for? You will need to determine the type of rangehood you would like.
If you are selecting a rangehood for a new kitchen, you need to decide what type of rangehood you would like. There are several different designs of rangehoods, including; Canopy, undermount, slide out and fixed. Whilst these units all serve a similar purpose, they are different in appearance. Take a look at our selection of rangehoods to see what unit suits you.
- Are you replacing an existing unit?
If you are replacing an existing rangehood in your kitchen, it will most likely be cheaper to replace the rangehood with a like for like product as this will reduce the amount of modifications needed. If your appliance is an older discontinued, it will still likely be more cost-effective to replace it with a unit of the same dimensions to reduce modifications to the cabinetry and surrounding area.
- Do you have electricity close by to power the range hood?
Typically, a standard 10A (amp) power point is required for most rangehoods. If you do not have electricity or a power point nearby you will be required to install one and one of our electricians may be required. Feel free to call for additional information or a quote.
- Always ensure to engage a licensed plumber and electrician for installation so it complies with Australian Standards.
If your installation includes any plumbing or electrical work it’s essential to use a licensed plumber or electrician. Licensed trades must hold insurance to be granted their license, which protects both you and your home. A licensed trade has a higher standard of knowledge and experience than someone who is only registered or in training.
